Laser Meadows: walking through light and music

Laser Meadows is described through an action: walking barefoot through a landscape crossed by abstract light. The installation brings the visitor’s movement into the same setting as the music and the changing patterns.

A landscape to enter

Presented at NUR festival in Kazan in 2023, Laser Meadows occupied the air zone of URAM park, according to the published festival programme. The original work description invites visitors onto the slopes of valleys.

That wording matters. It describes a place to enter and traverse, rather than only an image to look at. A camera records one position and one passage of time; the documented invitation to walk suggests multiple positions from which the work could be encountered.

Patterns without a fixed frame

The artists identify the light patterns as Laser Lumia. In their account, these abstract patterns unfold in synchrony with the music, forming extended loops and waves without an obvious beginning or ending.

Read together, these elements shift attention from an isolated light pattern to a surrounding experience. A wave passing over a surface and a musical phrase unfolding in time can be followed at once; walking changes the position from which they are encountered.

What the documentation can show

The project film lets viewers revisit the appearance and spatial setting of Laser Meadows. The case page links that recording to the original description and the documented year and festival.

For an installation built around presence and movement, a written account and a recording offer complementary views. The film preserves a sequence of changing patterns; the description returns attention to the freedom of walking through the space.
