Umbra
The Shadow Plays
Umbra is the darkest part of a shadow, where light is fully blocked, as during an eclipse. As one crosses the ghostly laser plane, spheres trigger notes, quite literally playing music through shadows.
Sound, light, smoke, and perception converge. The installation reveals the simplicity and beauty of the cosmic link between star and planet: a vast, continuous motion that defines the order and rhythms of our world.
Visitor Interaction
The audience enters the field of laser light. Crossing the plane triggers musical notes through the spheres; the visitor's movement becomes part of the composition.
