AV Live - "Neptune" ["Squat 3/4" club, Moscow]
Neptune Live / Squat 3/4
Billed specifically as an audiovisual live act, Broken Composers performed at the Neptune party inside Moscow’s historic Squat 3/4 venue in May 2018.
The work
The set was defined by an extreme contrast between classical instrumentation and harsh industrial noise. While one performer played delicate, breathy melodies on a traditional transverse flute, the other aggressively struck heavy metal objects and chains with a hammer.
In detail
This abrasive electroacoustic collision took place within the venue's tiled, former bathhouse walls, bathed in a cold, unyielding blue spotlight.
