The duo executed a highly unique, site-specific audiovisual performance for the 2019 Anhydrite media-art biennale, located deep inside the Barbarossa Cave in Thuringia, Germany.
Inside Barbarossa Cave
The natural underground environment dictated a completely different aesthetic approach. Clad in a total-blue enclosed suit and mask adorned with metallic artifacts, the performer navigated the ancient stone vaults.
Sound and space
The artists utilized the cave's massive natural reverberation to amplify their atmospheric soundscapes, creating a claustrophobic yet expansive dialogue between digital noise and geology.
